There doesn’t seem to be a way to track shipments created using the Rate Shopping API?
When using the “Veeqo API” (the one that creates orders that show up in the Veeqo UI), there is a View Tracking Events API, but that requires a shipment_id (integer).
The Rate Shopping API only returns a remote_shipment_id which is a string.
The reason this is important is because, for example, USPS no longer allows you to use their API to track a shipment if you didn’t create the shipment with your account.
Currently the Rate Shopping API supports only returning back a tracking number (not tracking events). The View Tracking Events endpoint is a separate part of the API to the Rate Shopping API as it requires a “Shipment” object, which isn’t created in the Rate Shopping API. Adding tracking statuses would be classified as a feature request, could you please reach out to Veeqo Support (either through the Support Messenger in the app or at helpme@support.veeqo.com) where we can classify and scope the feature for potential implementation.
Other integrators have been successful with tracking by integrating directly with external carrier API tracking endpoints, which may work as workaround for you in the time being.
We have contacted support to raise a feature request.
We are going to try using another API for tracking on these for now. We can’t use the external carrier API for USPS shipments - they only allow tracking against your own shipments (created with your USPS ID) - or paying them something like $600/month
Shippo will do it for something like $0.02/shipment, which is a tax we’ll just need to pay for now
