# Veeqo API Rate Limits are enabled

Hey All,  
The Veeqo API now has requests rate limits implemented with a [Leaky Bucket algorithm](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leaky_bucket). Current limit is: **bucket size of 100** with a **leak rate of 5/second**.

Limits are key/token based. The API will respond with HTTP 429 error in case of bucket overflow.

This change was [previously announced](https://developer-forum.veeqo.com/t/veeqo-api-rate-limit/133) and finally live since May 3, 2020.
